It’s hard to say which Ben loves more: Oregon pinots, waterskiing, hanging out in his hometown of Lake Oswego, or applying his legal and business expertise to help business owners reach successful outcomes in transitioning to the next phases of their businesses and lives.  

Fortunately for us, he’s willing to leverage the last for our clients here at FP Transitions, bringing them an undeniable expert in the field. 
Ben completed his undergraduate degrees (yes, two) in economics and history from Linfield University (then College). He then attended Willamette University, where he earned both his Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration degrees (again, yes, both).  

During law school, he clerked in a variety of verticals, including banking, private equity, mediation practice, and real estate law. After graduation, Ben worked in roles as a legal project management consultant, a high-net-worth real estate portfolio advisor, and an M&A consultant for a prop-tech consulting firm.  

When the opportunity arose to join FP’s M&A team, Ben immediately knew that FP was the firm and clients he wanted to work with in M&A. At FP Transitions, Ben helps our clients identify the right match in an organization or partner to sell to, transition or help grow their financial services businesses. He doesn’t stop there, though. Ben also supports these clients throughout the closing and pre-integration process.

Outside of work, you’re just as likely to find him with company at a restaurant in Lake Oswego or entertaining at his high rise apartment on the north end of Portland’s Pearl district. Benjamin is a fifth-generation Lake Oswego resident and spends a lot of time with friends and family in the town south of Portland.  

On weekends, you might also spot him at an Oregon tasting room; he calls himself an avid and “practicing” pinot noir nerd. He’s also an experienced remodeler, with more than ten full-house renos under his belt. And now, he’s applying that expertise to fixing up his family’s vintage water ski boat. Upon completion, he’ll be able to take it out for early-morning slalom water skiing, a favorite summertime activity of Ben’s.
