Eric is a Massachusetts native who still calls the Bay State his home. Partially to fulfill his love of skiing and to be in the outdoors he went to the University of Vermont to earn his political science degree. Eric’s three daughters also attended University of Vermont, following in their father’s footsteps. In fact, Eric and his family enjoy Vermont so much that they own a second home there to this day.

After earning his bachelor’s degree, Eric returned to Massachusetts and completed the Master of Business Administration program at Babson College, which is widely regarded as the top entrepreneurial college in the country.

Through high school and college, Eric worked at Fidelity Investments, laying the foundation for his illustrious financial services career.

In his years as a wealth management expert, Eric has always been a pioneer. At Fidelity Investments, he helped to launch the first-ever ever home stock trading system. He also founded one of the country’s first Registered Investment Advisors, Kobren Insight Management which was eventually sold to E*TRADE Financial. But after 30 years of running wealth management firms, he was ready to blaze new trails.

That led him to our team at FP Transitions, where Eric is excited about the opportunity to give back to the industry that has treated him so well through the years. As a member of our Enterprise Consulting Group, he helps others learn from his experiences — and avoid his mistakes — to support their growth and prosperity.

In his role, Eric acts as a sounding board and a guide, either validating advisors’ instincts or helping them learn from someone who has traveled their path ahead of them. As someone who hates losing money more than he likes making it, his insights can help to protect advisors from a range of challenges.

When he’s not serving our clients and sharing his wisdom, you can probably find Eric doing one of two things: volunteering or playing some ball-and-racquet-based sport. Squash, tennis, table tennis, platform tennis, and pickle ball are all in his wheelhouse. You may also find him in the mountains skiing and snowboarding in the winter and on the golf course in the summer. And among all this, he still finds time for his three daughters and wife of over 25 years.
