Aaron Wells, CVA

Director of Financial Analysis

Originally from Ohio, Aaron is a man about the nation, who has lived in five states, including Oregon. Currently, he resides in Georgia. He holds a BA from Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana.

This is Aaron’s “second stint” at FP Transitions. His first stint with from February 2015 to March 2020. During this time, he worked with both the M&A and Valuations team to help our advisors understand, increase, and monetize the value of their businesses. Aaron accomplished this through deal structure consulting, transaction support, buyer & seller matchmaking, cash flow consulting, market-based valuation analyses, developing cash flow analyses for mergers, and performing certified business valuations for tax purposes. Aaron decided to return to FPT as he admires their thought leadership and the modern solutions they offer the independent financial advisor.

Aaron is a past holder of the Certified Business Intermediary (CBI) designation issued by the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA) and a current holder of the Certified Valuation Analyst. Prior to his “most current stint” at FPT, Aaron worked with the Business Solutions team at LPL Financial and did practice management consulting as an outsourced CFO to LPL advisors. His portfolio of advisors ranged in size from $100M - $7B in AUM and he also served as a subject matter expert and consultant for other CFOs on the team.

As the Director of Valuations, Aaron helps our advisors measure and assess the value of their life’s work. His goal with the Valuations Department is to continue developing and implementing new and improved solutions that help our advisors drive actionable change within their businesses and support FPT being the premier consultant for the independent financial advisor.

When not assisting our advisors, Aaron enjoys traveling (he spent the summer after college traveling around East Africa, picking up a nominal understanding of Swahili, and eating his weight in chips and mishkaki), being on the beach, and staying physically active. He also enjoys attending sporting events, specifically baseball and Ohio State Football. A caffeinated individual, he has four different coffee brewing methods at his disposal – and uses them each frequently.
