Kris Reaves

Valuation Analyst

As a former pro soccer player, Kris applies his team mentality and drive to succeed for our clients.

If the name Kris Reaves sounds familiar to you, you’re thinking of the right guy. While Kris now works as an associate analyst on our team, he first made a name for himself playing Major League Soccer (MLS) with FC Dallas.

It’s probably no surprise, then, that while he was earning his bachelor’s degree in political science at the University of Portland, he played defense for the Pilots, helping them rack up a record-setting seven shutouts in a single season. Also at UP, he completed his Master of Business Administration with a concentration in finance at the Pamplin School of Business. At the same time, he worked as the UP men’s soccer team’s Director of Operations.

Before that, Kris — a Jamaican-American — grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. He was on the U.S. Soccer Under-20 and Under-18 National Teams. He’s lived in North Carolina, Colorado, and, of course, Texas, where his footballer career took off. Even so, when asked about notable jobs before joining us, Kris shouts out his days as a barback at Deschutes Brewery, as any good Oregonian would.

As a former pro soccer player, he was drawn to FP Transitions’ team atmosphere. He said he joined because he loves how everyone collaborates to help clients reach their goals. Kris enjoys having the opportunity to work with numbers in a way that directly helps practices thrive, too.

When he’s not pushing ahead for our clients, you can bet Kris is pushing ahead on the running trails across the state. He competes in everything from 5ks to marathons and has both a triathlon and an IRONMAN on his to-do list. To fuel up, he loves eating at Portland’s food carts or scouting out a brunch spot. And don’t worry, Kris knows how to relax, too. He regularly squeezes in a round of golf.
