Dave Writz

Software Engineer

Dave’s evading full-blown retirement by helping our FP Transitions team make the best technology choices to serve our clients.

Although Dave considers himself semi-retired, he couldn’t resist the pull of our business intelligence team. Maybe it’s us, or maybe it’s the fact that he considers himself a “serial entrepreneur.”

Dave’s robust career led him to this point. After securing both a Bachelor of Business Administration in management information systems at the University of Wisconsin and a Master of Business Administration in innovation and entrepreneurship at Concordia University, Dave started building his accolades.

Not only did he act as the Vice President of Field Technology for Northwestern Mutual, but he also founded and sold two successful businesses. It’s not overly surprising, then, that he won Milwaukee’s 40 Under 40 and his companies were named to Milwaukee’s Future 50 list three times.

Meanwhile, Dave somehow managed to co-author two books and invent a now-patented voice recognition solution.

As a software engineer for our team, he’s looking forward to the opportunity to apply his technical and business skills to make a difference. “I love the ability to make an immediate impact and work with great people,” he says.

If all of Dave’s professional accomplishments make you think he’s all work, no play, think again. Now a resident of sunny Arizona, he loves mountain biking and hiking. In fact, he’s completed the Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rim hike.

When he’s not getting active, Dave spends time with his wife of nearly 30 years and his two “awesome” adult daughters. He also regularly volunteers as a technology consultant for non-profits.
